Moulton College Gas Centre Launch
On the 30th September 2016 Moulton College was delighted to welcome plumbing employers and suppliers at the re-launch of the Gas Training and Assessment Centre.
Ian Dixon, Construction Services to Business Manager, welcomed both local employers and plumbing students to the event to discuss the range of ACS gas training and assessment courses that could be offered at the college to both qualified plumbers wanting to start as Gas Safe installers as well as experienced gas engineers needing to renew their qualifications for both natural gas and LPG.
Thanks go to the following suppliers who supported this event and provided some interesting and informative displays during the morning;
Hayway tools from Kettering who are a local company who specialise in all ranges of hand and power tools
Smith Brothers who are an independent company with several local branches that supply plumbing materials to the trade.
Johnson & Starley, a local manufacturer who supply a range of products nationally including warm air units and gas boilers
Travis Perkins, a national supplier of materials to the industry and general public
McAlpine, a national company who supply a range of products for the plumbing industry
Local plumbing contractors and students were able to speak to suppliers about the range of products on display and employers were able to build networks with new companies and renew friendships with others over a cup of tea and bacon sandwich. It was also an excellent opportunity for the full time students to meet local employers to discuss career opportunities at the end of their studies.
There are plans to run a variety of Gas training courses over the next few months and anyone interested in this training should contact Ian Dixon direct for further information at firstname.lastname@example.org.
