Exam Results 2004-2005Moulton remains an open access College and does not select its entrants upon prior performance, yet in 2005 our students consistently achieved results in national awards that were well above national benchmarks. Success rates are defined as the proportion of learners who start the course that stay until the end and complete the full qualification. Long courses are of more than 26 weeks duration. Short courses are less than 26 weeks in length. Success Rates - long courses at level 1
At level 1, for 16-18 and adult students respectively, our success rates were 36% and 40% above the national averages. Success Rates - long courses at level 2
At level 2, for 16-18 and adult students respectively, our success rates were 13% and 2% above the averages. Success Rates - long courses at level 3
At level 3, for 16-18 and adult students respectively, our success rates were 16% and 7% above the national averages. Success Rates - short courses
A performance that was further reinforced by the equivalent data for 1500 short course students, which showed achievement above the benchmarks to be 3% for 16-18 year old students and 10% for adults. For the last decade, all full-time students have been eligible to receive Moulton College awards and these reflect not only success in the primary qualification for which the student will also obtain a National award, but a student's achievement in key skills, additional qualifications, - and their employability, as measured through work experience, duties performed on college commercial units or, for employed students, their performance at work. Moulton College Awards...Vocational Qualification, plus... These awards are similar in concept to the overarching diplomas that are being proposed by the Tomlinson committee for introduction by 2010, and reinforce Moulton's position as a pathfinder institution. In 2004/05 of the 1105 students completing full-time, block release and equivalent programme of study, 95.6% have achieved success, with over 53% achieving passes at merit or distinction level.
