Family Days

School groups are the main focus of our work with children at The Countryside Education Centre. Recently however, the activities on offer have been extended to include family days. Our programme of family days began several years ago with a single day in the summer holidays, but now includes a two week programme in August, plus four other seasonal events throughout the year.

These days are open to any children and their families to come and enjoy the countryside. The children may have been on a school trip and wish to return in their own time or they may be completely new to the centre.
We have several families who visit us regularly throughout the year, which adds a friendly group atmosphere to the events.

Facebook group

The centre has recently established a Facebook group so that families who come to our activity days can share their experiences and photos and keep in touch with others who they met on the day. The idea is to create an online community linked through their experiences at the centre. It also helps us to keep people up to date with upcoming or new events as well as last minute activities such as "snow days".
