This key announced inspection assessed the college's performance against all the key national minimum standards (NMS) relevant to the national ‘Every Child Matters’ outcomes. The overall judgement was: 'The college continues to provide its resident students, who are aged under 18, with exceptionally high standards of accommodation and welfare support. The outcome of the inspection was wholly satisfactory, with the inspectorate very unusually making no recommendations for improvement, and confirming full compliance with all 47 standards. In addition they commended the College for exceeding the requirements of 10 of the published standards.
Ofsted and Adult Learning InspectoratesDuring the third week in March the College received a visit by officials from the Ofsted and Adult Learning Inspectorates. The outcome of that inspection was extremely positive. Good Provision (Grade 2)
We were delighted that all eight areas of the College’s curriculum were graded as good or better, with the agriculture and rural skills subject areas being judged as outstanding.
Outstanding Provision (Grade 1)
This is the best grade profile that has been awarded to a landbased college during the current round of inspections – and it is particularly rewarding that no landbased College has to date been awarded a higher grade in any of the subjects inspected. Furthermore Moulton’s is the only provision in the country, in both agriculture and rural skills to have been graded as outstanding. Learning and Skills Council
Financial Health
The diligence with which the College manages its finances has been reflected in the LSC’s confirmation that the College has category ‘A’ financial status. Performance Review
The Local LSC assesses the College’s performance under three categories:- recruitment, student performance, and management. We are delighted that the College has now been judged to be excellent in all three categories. Data Accuracy and Timeliness
Add to this the college’s inclusion within the list of pathfinder Colleges that will receive a light touch audit in future years, as a recognition of our track record in providing accurate and timely student number and achievement data – and Moulton’s staff and students can be justly proud of their achievements.
(ELITE) English Landbased Institute of Training and EducationMoulton’s growing importance as a regional and national provider was reinforced last autumn, when Moulton was invited to become the fifth member of the ELITE (English Landbased Institute of Training and Education) consortium, in recognition of the volume, and high quality of education and training now delivered by the College. Membership of this organisation is already providing staff with an opportunity to exchange best practice, and to engage in collaborative developments with colleagues from other parts of the country. |
