Aim of the course

To provide training and knowledge in the safe and efficient operation of this specialist equipment

Course content

To develop both skills and knowledge associated with this type of machine, the following topics will be covered:

Theory:

Statutory Requirements
Relevant Legislation
Safe working
Loads stability

Practical:

Introduction to the machine
Operator checks and maintenance
Practical remedial training
Practical operating skills test
Theory test

Course requirements

A maximum of 2 candidates per course

Candidates will need to bring with them:

A notebook & pen
Safety boots and warm, practical clothing
A packed lunch

General notes - college facilities

The college has excellent modern facilities including a Learning Resources Centre, Library, IT Suite and learning support is available if required. Hot and cold meals are available from the Dining Room on the Main campus, and snacks are available from the Coffee Shop at Holcot campus, although for convenience it is recommended that a packed lunch be brought along.
