CPCS / LANTRA Forward Tipping Dumper Operating Safety Course

Aim of the course

To provide safety knowledge and practical training in the safe use of Forward Tipping Dumpers.

This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant statutory provisions and Approved Codes of Practice.

Course content

Topics covered will include:

Site Safety Awareness
Operating Safety Code
Introduction to machine / Control familiarisation
Pre-start checks and refuelling
General Operating Practice (unladen)
Loading & Unloading Practices
Multi-Choice Theory Test
Practical Skills Test

Course requirements

Notebook & pen
4 Passport photographs
Overalls and safety boots

Candidates must be able to drive a motor vehicle or have driven dumper trucks before.

General notes - college facilities

The college has excellent modern facilities including a Learning Resources Centre, Library, IT Suite and learning support is available if required. Hot and cold meals are available from the Dining Room on the Main campus, and snacks are available from the Coffee Shop at Holcot campus, although for convenience it is recommended that a packed lunch be brought along.
