Aim of the course

To provide training in the safe use of telescopic forklift trucks that are used on construction sites.

Prepare candidates for CPCS assessment and the Health & Safety Touch Screen Test.

Course content

Topics covered will include:-

  • Legal requirements and safety regulations
  • Function of controls & instruments
  • Routine maintenance
  • Safety
  • Operation of truck

Course requirements

Please bring with you:

  • Notebook and pen
  • 4 Passport photographs
  • Overalls and safety boots

Requirements:

  • Minimum age 18 yrs
  • Candidates of a mature nature must be able to read & write and be able to understand charts and graphs. A background in construction or farming is preferable.
  • Previous experience on smaller lift trucks would be considered an advantage

General notes - college facilities

The college has excellent modern facilities including a Learning Resources Centre, Library, IT Suite and learning support is available if required. Hot & cold meals are available from the Dining Room on the Main campus and snacks are available from the Coffee Shop at the Holcot campus, although for convenience it is recommended that a packed lunch be brought along.
