Dumper Truck Course

Aim of the course

The aim of the course is to provide safety knowledge and practical training in the safe use of Dumper Trucks.

This course meets the statutory requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, and other relevant statutory provisions, and Approved Codes of Practice.

Programme Organisation

The course is spent on developing skills and knowledge associated with this type of machine.
Topics covered include:-

Site Safety Awareness
Operating Safety Code
Introduction to machine / Control Familiarisation
Pre-Start Checks and Refuelling
General Operating Practice (unladen)
Loading & Unloading Practices
Multi-Choice Theory Test
Practical Skills Test

Overalls and safety boots

General Notes - College Facilities

The college has excellent modern facilities including a learning resources centre; Library, IT Centre and learning support if needed. While you are on the course you will become a temporary student and so will be encouraged to use these facilities to the full free. Hot and cold meals are always available from the Refectory at Main Campus, as well as, snacks which are also available from the Coffee Shop's at our Holcot and Pitsford Centres.
