Mechanical Handling courses at Moulton: IntroductionThe College owns an extensive range of modern forklifts and plant equipment, all of which are dedicated to the mechanical handling training unit. The practical aspects of the courses are carried out on a purpose built driving area to ensure realistic training. Moulton College is a registered member of the 'Independent Training Standards Scheme & Register' which is one of only five accrediting bodies recognised by the Health & Safety Commission. Moulton College offers mechanical handling qualifications for two awarding bodies
ITSSAR coursesThe ITSSAR qualifications are primarily used by the landbased industries such as Agriculture and Horticulture as well as the utility companies. The ITSSAR courses cover all the requirements of Health & Safety as well as machine operation. Available ITSSAR Mechanical Handling courses:
CPCS coursesThe CPCS courses are the only qualifications accepted on the Major Consortium Group building sites and on most other building sites. They are of longer duration than ITSSAR course and usually at a lower tutor /machine/candidate ratio. The novice CPCS courses also include the compulsory Health & Safety test. On successful completion of the CPCS course candidates will be registered for their 'Red CPCS card' which is valid for 3 years (not renewable). Before the end of the 3 years candidates will need to have completed the NVQ in Specialised Plant Operation if they wish to continue working within the construction industry.
