Mechanical Handling courses at Moulton: IntroductionThe College owns an extensive range of modern forklifts and plant equipment, all of which are dedicated to the mechanical handling training unit. The practical aspects of the courses are carried out on a purpose built driving area to ensure realistic training. Moulton College is a 'CPCS' Construction Plant Competency Scheme There are two distinct areas of Mechanical Handling which are CPCS courses
CPCS is the industry recognized standard in Construction and is what is required to gain a CPCS card which will enable candidates to operate plant on the Major Consortium Group building sites and on most other building sites. On successful completion of the CPCS course candidates will be registered for their 'Red CPCS card' which is valid for 3 years (not renewable). Before the end of the 3 years candidates will need to have completed the NVQ in Specialised Plant Operation if they wish to continue working within the construction industry. Our Mechanical Handling Centre offers all of the necessary training from Novice through to Experienced Worker (Blue Card) including the CPCS theory and practical test, Health and Safety and an NVQ/Diploma in Plant Operations. If you are a levy paying organization and/or are working in the Construction industry you may be entitled to claim a grant towards the cost of your training. ITSSAR courses
The ITSSAR qualifications are used for operators of Reach and Counterbalance Forklifts in a variety of settings. It is recognized as a standard of competence by many large employers including Warehouse and Distribution companies. ITSSAR is also used by the landbased industries such as Agriculture and Horticulture as well as the utility companies.
