Research Interests and Current Research

James is an ecologist by training with wide research interests. Previously, his research has focused on managing ecological impacts of human disturbance in ecosystems, particularly in woodlands and marginal farmland habitats. Now he has become increasingly interested in implementing conservation measures for biodiversity at a large spatial scale, with recent work examining the efficacy of agri-environmental schemes in lowland farmed landscapes and the restoration of historic parklands.
