3rd Round Tie - National Football Cup - BCS - 9/12/2009

On a cold and damp afternoon the current table topping Moulton College Girl's football team travelled the short distance to Leicester for a 3rd round clash in the National Football Cup to play familiar opposition in the form of Q.E.

Moulton College dominated from the off but were unable to register a score until late on in the first half. This was as a result of an inferior playing surface and poor control and finishing from the same players who, two weeks previously, registered 15 goals in their league game against North Notts.

Sarah Pestall, player of the match, finally rallied the troops and led from the back to launch an attack on the home team's goal to help set up Shana Haynes for her first goal for Moulton College. The usual keeper, playing as centre forward, had a rare outing from between the sticks to place the ball firmly passed the opposition's goalkeeper.

The 2nd half saw a much better display from the leaders of the East Midlands league with a hat trick from Jenna Looker and one from Kelly Barnett. Wyggeston registered two goals in reply to offer some glimmer of hope, but it was to no avail.

The girl's wait the draw to see who they will face in the next round, with the odds it being either arch rivals Bilborough or Buxton College.
