"Moulton overcome Monoux"

BCS British Colleges Elite Men's Conference - 24.3.10
Moulton College 99  -  69 George Monoux College

An under strength Moulton College 'A' team faced George Monoux College in a conference game and put in a good performance both offensively and defensively. After the first quarter Moulton led by just 3 points and were struggling with the strength and height of their opposition but the second quarter saw the skill and speed of the Moulton boys as Jonny Yates began to take control.

By half time Moulton led 51 points to 40 thanks to some tenacious work by Jacob Holt and some fine perimeter shooting from Yates and Merson Paul. Coach Dunning emphasised the importance of taking care of the basketball and urged the team to continue with their up-tempo style of play which had gained them the advantage in the first half.

With ten minutes of the game remaining the home team led 63-50 but it was the last quarter where the big difference in skill showed. Moulton outscored the visitors 36 points to 19 and won the game convincingly scoring 99 points and limiting Monoux to just 69.

In the impressive display Jonny Yates scored 28 points and was backed up by Jacob Holt and Merson Paul with 18 points apiece.

"Moulton Win BCS League with a Game To Go!"

BCS League - 24.3.10
Moulton College 35  -  7 John Leggott College

Moulton hosted John Leggett College in the BCS league. The match was played at the Holcot Centre on a perfect day for rugby. The game started with a good kick receipt by Tom Holliday but the visiting team soon showed their commitment putting in some thumping tackles.

The game was played in the middle third with John Leggett making the Moulton team work hard for any territory. Moulton's recycling of the ball was good and soon the amount of possession had to produce results. The first try came from some good interplay and some powerful running from Rhys Thornton and Jack Lines but unfortunately this try went unconverted.

However the try spurred the home team on to score two further quick tries. The game then became a disjointed affair with the both teams showing their commitment in the breakdown and the tackle area. Moulton went into the half time with a hard fought 15 – 0 lead.

The second half showed that the break had not affected either team's commitment with John Leggett having the better of the early exchanges resulting in the John Leggett scrum half scoring an impressive unconverted try. Moulton then refound their composure and started to work their way up the field with some good off loading.

Despite John Leggett's efforts Moulton started to dominate the proceedings and scored a flurry of tries. The substitutions for the Moulton team did not let the pressure drop and the game finished 37 – 5 to Moulton.

This win meant that Mouton had won the BCS league outright despite still waiting to play Chesterfield College.

Moulton College Men's Basketball Academy A
"SEEC too BIG for Moulton Men"

BCS British Colleges Elite Men's Conference - 17/03/2010
Moulton College 64  -  70 South East Essex College

The Moulton College 'A' team faced one of their biggest challenges of the season when they took on South East Essex College (SEEC) at the John Ashby sports centre. To lose by just six points could be seen as a very reasonable result but the team will look back on a number of unforced errors that undoubtedly cost them the chance of victory.

SEEC, with four players over two metres (6'6"), had a distinct standing height advantage and this combined with three team members having played in the BBL also gave them the edge in experience.

The Moulton game plan was simple, use speed and organisation to overcome SEEC's obvious physical advantage. Moulton made an excellent start to the game jumping out to a 10-6 lead and causing the visitors problems with their full court zone press. However, once SEEC made some simple adjustments the balanced changed and the Essex based college went on a 17-7 charge to lead 23-15 at the end of the first period of play.

The second quarter was a disaster for Moulton as they frequently turned the ball over and were left to recover the ball after huge dunks from their opponents. On offence the College team looked hesitant and intimidated and at half time it was a dispirited group of players that left the court.

The Moulton coaching staff used the break to re-enforce the simple game plan but at this stage a real thrashing looked likely. Coach, Mark Dunning switched his team to zoned defence and this change plus SEEC possibly becoming a little complacent saw a change of fortunes. The Moulton defence became much tighter and at the offensive end Matt Usher found his scoring touch from mid-range. Moulton took the quarter 16-14 to go into the final period 59-40 down.

Realising that SEEC had adjusted to the Moulton defence Coach Dunning made another switch changing to an aggressive half court man-to-man defence. The two teams exchanged baskets then, inspired by a four successful three-point shots from Ben Budgen and Merson Paul, Moulton went on a 15-4 charge and suddenly the game was back on the line. Seeing a chance of an unlikely victory Dunning instructed his team to foul in order to send SEEC to the free throw line in the hope they would miss the ensuing free throws. With SEEC scoring only twice from free throws the tactic worked but Moulton were unable to convert at the other end and SEEC held on for the six points win.

Some of the Moulton players had shown that they could compete with the best and this confidence should be very valuable for the group as they head for the National College Championships next month. In the six points defeat Matt Usher and Budgen were the team's top scorers with 14 points apiece while Merson Paul and Darius Innis scored 13 and 11 points respectively while special mention should be made of Jacob Holt who battle manfully against opponents standing many inches taller than him.

"Another big win for the Moulton 'B' team"

BCS East Midlands League - 17/03/2010
Moulton College 84  -  10 Grimsby College 'A'

The Moulton College 'B' team avenged an early season defeat by comfortably beating a short-handed Grimsby College team. Defensively the visitors couldn't contain the physical superiority of the Moulton players and struggled all afternoon to score.

Coach Karen Goodrich utilised a trapping zone defence in the first half then switched to man-to-man in the second and both defences proved too much for the visitors.

All nine Moulton players scored led by Dan Obasa with 20 points while Elijah McLeod enjoyed his best game of the season in scoring 16 points. Goodrich was quick to pay tribute to the three non-Academy players.

Tresham College 4  -  0 Moulton College

Moulton's away game this week was against local rivals Tresham. After having beaten the home side convincingly twice this season (6-1 and 6-2) Moulton were favourites to win but, as shown by the result, it is never guaranteed.

Moulton College began well and were on top of the game until the thirty-fifth minute when midfielder Elliot Whitehouse failed to follow his runner allowing Tresham to score an easy goal.

Moulton kept trying for the equalizer in the second half but a resilient defence held tight. With twenty minutes remaining the away side, still battling to draw level, pushed too many players forward and were caught off guard allowing Tresham to score their second goal. In the seventy-fifth minute Moulton lost their keeper Jordan May to a groin strain and substitute Jake Molloy replaced him. Jake's first job was to pick the ball from the back of the net after the Tresham centre forward struck a 'thunderbolt' thirty yard shot into the top corner. With time running out Moulton pushed forward trying to win back some local pride but conceded an additional goal on the break. Though a 4-0 score-line flatters Tresham they well deserved their victory.

RFU Elite League - 17/03/2010
Moulton College 90  -  0 Myerscough College

Moulton hosted Myerscough at the Holcot pitch in the last of the league matches in the Northern half of the AASE league. If Moulton could come away with a win they would win the Northern league outright. The game started brightly for Moulton with some crisp attacking play showing the intent of the side to take the game to Myerscough from the start.

There was not long to wait until Moulton scored the first points of the match which came from good decision making and attacking the space being offered by the Myerscough side in the wide channels. The basic skill execution of the Moulton team was proving the difference and the tries kept on coming and soon the game was beyond the reach of an injury ravaged Myerscough side who kept working but were struggling to gain possession and the pace was proving hard for them to deal with.

The substitutions made did not let up the pressure on the Myerscough side with a number of the Moulton team taking a well deserved rest after playing in a tough fixture on Monday for the Northampton Saints 2nd XV. Credit must go to the Myerscough side who did not give up, despite being under pressure from a rampant Moulton team.

As the final whistle was blown Moulton had secured the win winning 90 -0 meaning they had won the Northern half of the AASE. Moulton can now look forward to the play-off match after the Easter break.

Bilborough College 4  -  0 Moulton College

Joe Baillie (2), Alex Blunt (2)

In what will possibly be their final league game of the season, Moulton travelled to Nottingham to play Bilborough in the BCS East Midlands League.

This was probably the Men's best team performance of the season. With a slight formation change to accommodate the ability of the players, Moulton started out the much stronger side, preventing Bilborough from playing any flowing hockey. Despite the slow playing surface the players linked well with Naisan Dehghani, Liam Cassidy and Sam Baker controlling the team in midfield.

However, it was still Bilborough who looked the more likely team to score and keeper Luke Oakley was outstanding in goal all game with some fantastic, agile saves. As frustration set in, some tempers were raised and both teams were given a green card warning meaning any descent on whatever level would mean the offender would be sin binned for at least 5 mins. Unfortunately it was Moultons' Joe Baillie who knocked the ball away after the whistle had gone who was in the bin!! Despite being down to 10 men, Moulton surged forward and some great link up play between Adam Smith and Brandon Lazarus saw Alex Blunt score Moulton's first. Moulton continued to dominate and went into half time with the one goal advantage.

The second half pace from Moulton continued to be very high with Harry Peart and Lewis Ward linking up well on the left and Alex Blunt scored his second from a well worked penalty corner. Dehghani was sin binned after an altercation with a Bilborough player and once again Moulton used this to their advantage with Joe Baillie scoring his two, practically identical, goals in quick succession.

As legs began to tire, Bilborough started to get back into the game but resolute defending by Captain Danny Whitfield and excellent saves from Oakley saw Moulton keep a clean sheet. A superb team performance and with only one game outstanding in the BCS East Midlands League Moulton look to be set for the runners up position.

SQUAD: Luke Oakley, Danny Whitfield, Lewis Ward, Adam Smith, Liam Cassidy, Sam Baker, Harry Peart, Naisan Dehghani, Joe Baillie, Alex Blunt, Brandon Lazarus.

England Basketball Schools and Colleges Championship 3rd Round - 10.3.2010

"Moulton girls out of EB Cup despite Imi's best efforts"
Moulton College 49  -  52 Oakland College

Point guard Imogen 'Imi' Cox turned in a mercurial performance for Moulton against Oakland College from Watford but couldn't prevent her team being beaten in the England Basketball's Schools and Colleges Championships. Imi had five three-pointers in her 19 points haul but none of her team mates could score in double figures so the girls follow the College's boys' team out of the competition.

Oakland is the latest college based basketball academy. They arrived at Moulton with a team consisting of just six players but with some of the players having national league experience and coached by the England junior women's coach they were certainly not short on experience.

Moulton were again able to field Whitney Bain and Sascha Thompson, who have recently returned to action after knee surgery, plus Chloe Moss who has been sidelined since the autumn with glandular fever. This meant that the College were at full strength for the first time this season but they made a nervous start missing a number of easy shots. Oakland went to a 8-2 lead but then Moulton's pressure defence began to force turn-overs leading to easy scores and when Cox got her second three-pointer it took Moulton into an 18 -14 lead at the end of the first period of play.

In the second quarter Moulton were unable to maintain their defensive intensity and Oakland capitalised on a number of defensive lapses. This was always going to be a tough game for the Moulton girls but with Chloe Moss beginning to dominate the defensive boards the team was able to launch a number of successful fast break attacks. The Moulton cause wasn't helped when their high scoring off-guard Katie Bayliss rolled her ankle incurring an injury which was eventually revealed as a broken bone in the foot.

Oakland finished the half the stronger of the two teams and at half time Moulton held the narrowest of leads at 28-27. By now Cox who had played two senior national league games just two days previously was struggling with blisters on her feet and Oakland's coach, Michel Ball made a decisive tactical move switching his team to a zone defence. Throughout the third quarter Moulton's half-court offence lacked movement and patience. This resulted in hurried perimeter shots and every time they missed Oakland seemed to rebound the ball and score at the other end. Moulton were outscored 11-5 in the third quarter to trail 38-34 with just ten minutes left to play.

Moulton coach, John Collins switched his team to a trapping zone and this resulted in a number of steals and increased the momentum of the team. Despite their best efforts Mouton just couldn't make up the deficit missing three crucial shots and they were forced to foul in an attempt to get possession. Under great pressure Oakland scored eight of the resulting ten free throws to take the game 52-49.

For Moulton, Cox scored 19 points; Chloe Moss contributed 9 points and pulled down 11 points while Sascha Thompson chipped in with 7 points a total matched by Katie Bayliss before her injury.

"Moulton 'B' team sweep past Chesterfield"
Chesterfield College 20  -  88 Moulton College

The Moulton College 'B' team had no problems in recording a double over an inexperienced Chesterfield College team. Coach Karen Goodrich was able to give all ten of her player's equal playing time and they rewarded her with an excellent all-round team performance which saw all ten of them score. The win came despite Goodrich imposing a number of restrictions on her team's attacking options.

Men's Rugby Academy
Nottinghamshire Lincolnshire Derbyshire Further Education 10's competition - 10.3.2010

Moulton College travelled to Newark Rugby Club to attend the Lincolnshire 10's competition. The FE 10's round robin has been set up to try and encourage rugby within further education establishments. Twelve teams were expected at the tournament but a number of Colleges were unable to attend.

Moulton faced Stamford College in their first game and while slow to start ran out comfortable winners. The next opposition proved to be a much stiffer test with South Leicester looking more organised and direct. Moulton struggled to get any possession and soon they were chasing the game after going two tries down. The Moulton team were struggling to adjust to the referee and started to compound error after error allowing South Leicester another converted try.

The game finished with a very frustrated Moulton team losing to a committed South Leicester team.

The day did not get any better for the College team, they were keen to get back onto the field and make amends for their earlier disappointment but other College teams started to pick up injuries resulting in no further games for Moulton.

NOTE: Moulton play Myerscough College at home next week in the RFU Elite League in a game that could see Moulton win the Northern Section to go into the play-offs against the runners up in the Southern Section.

Lincoln College 0  -  3 Moulton College

Two goals from Mollie Gardner saw Moulton take all three points on their away visit to Lincoln. With a prompt start the girls did not have much opportunity to warm up so there were few unforced errors in the first ten minutes of the game as Moulton began to find their feet on a slow pitch. Jess Lovell and Jemma White then began to dominate play in the midfield and despite chances, Lottie Allnatt and birthday girl Lucy Quirke were unfortunate not to score.

An injury to Captain Laura Whittle saw Ellen Johnson take control in the central defender position and with Amy Wykes and Becca Hargin flanking either side, goalie Alex Holmes was only called upon a handful of times throughout the game. Gardner broke the deadlock mid-way through the first half following a well timed pass by Emily Broughton.

The second half saw Moulton get into their stride and they dominated much of the play. However, the Lincoln keeper was having an outstanding game and stopped many of the Moulton shots. Gardner scored her second following a well worked penalty corner and Lovell made it three, placing it neatly past the keeper after some good advantage play from the umpire. Gardner could have easily had a double hat-trick and Whittle was denied another opportunity in the final seconds of the game.

A good performance from the Moulton girls who took the opportunity to apply training ground moves in preparation for the National Cup semi-finals due to be played on 22nd March. Next week is their final league match of the season where, along with the men, travel away to Bilborough.

Team: Alex Holmes, Jess Lovell, Mollie Gardner, Laura Whittle, Lottie Allnatt, Becky Hargin, Jemma White, Hannah Bullimore, Amy Wykes, Emily Broughton, Lucy Quirke, Ellen Johnson.

Derby College 6  -  0 Moulton College

Moulton College made the long trip for an away game against Derby. Moulton began the game as if their bodies and minds were still on the bus allowing Derby to score 3 goals within the first fifteen minutes due to some slack defending and a wonderful free kick into the top corner. Moulton tried in vain to get back into the game but as they pushed forward to get on the score sheet Derby struck their fourth and fifth goals before half time.

Moulton came out for the second half with all guns blazing but could not break down the dogged Derby defence. The home side scored again in the last minute with another well taken free kick to make the final score 6-0.

Moulton College Men's Football 2nd XI
BCS East Midlands League - 10.3.2010

Moulton College 4  -  2 Regents College 1st XI

Moulton started the game with 7 players unavailable through illness but this was no excuse for the lacklustre start made by the league leaders. Moulton's work rate was severely lacking and Regents College took the lead with a deserved goal after 20 minutes. The goal did little to motivate Moulton who should have been further behind at half time.

During the break Moulton where told that unless they changed their attitude against a side currently bottom of the league, then their chance of winning the league will be gone along with all the hard work they have put in this season. With the team motivated, Ashley Ferguson equalised 5mins into the 2nd half with a quick free kick. Moulton again became complacent and Regents regained the lead with 10 minutes of the 2nd half remaining. Realising what was at stake Moulton finally got into the game with just 1 minute of normal time remaining and three quick fire goals, 1 from Ashley Ferguson and 2 from Ashley Clamp which saved the match and Moulton's blushes.

Hopefully this will be a lesson learned for the squad and they will realise that without hard work and the right attitude a very good team can quickly become 11 very average players. Well done to Kristian Love who made his debut in amid the chaos and is the one player who can truly say he gave all he could to the cause.

Friendly match - 26/2/2010

Moulton College/Bedford School 39  -  7 CG Liceo Naval (Argentina)

With the interesting prospect of combining two squads, Moulton College joined forces with Bedford School to play a touring Argentine school on 26th February at the Old Northamptonians' ground. C G Liceo Naval had been invited by Moulton College's partnership club, Northampton Saints.

Despite the recent torrential rain and generally dreadful weather conditions, the pitch and the playing conditions were good. As expected the home team took time to mesh but got on the score-sheet first with the Bedford School winger Johnson scoring after some good ball retention from the combined squad.

The try gave the home team confidence and the chance to play some inventive and attacking rugby which resulted in two quick scores by Moulton students Dan Lamb and Captain, Ross Kevan. It seemed that the 'flood gates' were about to open for the combined squad but Liceo Naval had other ideas and started being very direct in their running. Credit must go to the Argentine No 8 who broke from a scrum and raced away for a converted try.

At the half-time whistle the hosts were 15-7 up. The second half saw some good interplay from the home team producing a second try for Dan Lamb and further tries for Moulton's Charlie Frankham and Grant Snelling. Liceo Naval refused to give up and kept pressure on the combined side but it was the hosts who had the last word with Bedford School prop Curtis trundling over the line for a converted try.

The match was a good experience for both home sets of students and they ran out deserved winners 39-7.

England Basketball Schools and Colleges Championship - 2/3/2010

County Upper School (Bury St Edmond's) 68  -  68
77  -  72 AET
Moulton College

The Moulton College 'A' team crashed out of the England Basketball Schools and Colleges Championships. They suffered an overtime defeat against County Upper School, Bury St Edmond's throwing away an 11 point lead in the process.

Moulton were forced to field a team of 1st Year players as County insisted on playing the game on a Tuesday afternoon when 2nd Year students were attending lectures. Even so the quality fielded by Moulton should have been sufficient to seal victory. Failure was down to Moulton's surprising lack of determination, losing three of their taller players with five fouls but more importantly they committed of some appalling errors at crucial times of the game.

Without accurate travel directions Moulton had problems even finding County Upper and once there were confronted with inferior playing conditions and a team from County Upper School that, like their name, were well 'up' for the contest.

Moulton started the game well and their swift counter attacks saw them take an 11-1 lead but County responded well and by the end of the first period had reduced the deficit to 7 points to 19-12. Moulton made a good start to the second period and extended their lead to 11 points after five minutes of the quarter with Darius Innis scoring freely close to basket, but then the impetus of the game changed. County's Grant Bangs blocked a couple of shots and Moulton several times carelessly turned the ball over. County finished the quarter with a 9-2 charge to get the scores back to 34-31at half time and it was 'game on'.

The Moulton players struggled throughout the third period to re-find their form with their play lacking decisiveness but at the end of the quarter they still led 49-45. Moulton's problems increased during the final period of play as one by one their big men fouled out of the game. County were now dominating the rebounding department and went on an 8-2 rush to lead 64-62. Moulton's Merson Paul scored on a backdoor play to tie up the scores but then Moulton inexplicably fouled an opposition player and sent him to the free throw line. Fortunately for Moulton, Bangs missed both free throws and the game went into overtime.

Moulton took control of overtime with two quick scores but then totally lost focus. They sent County to the free throw line on no less than eight occasions in the five minute period to the home team took the game 77-72.

For Moulton Innis and Paul led the scoring with 14 points apiece, Jacob Holt contributed 13 points and rebounded well before fouling out while Yates chipped in with 12.

Buxton College 4  -  3 Moulton College

After a long journey to the heart of the Peak District, Moulton College women's football team kicked off against a backdrop of snow topped hills facing a team who were third in the league. With only 11 fit players Moulton started slowly and found themselves two-nil down within 10 minutes. Both Buxton goals were finely struck shots from the edge of the area which left stand in keeper Jess Law stranded. Some good interchanges between the Moulton College midfield saw the girls press forward and they started to ask questions of the Buxton defence.

An excellent clearance from Hayley Miller found April Maylin and, with a neat pass to Kayla Hennesey, Moulton College halved the deficit. Further runs forward from Sarah Pestall and good play from Jenna Looker pressured the home team as the half time whistle approached.

Within minutes of the 2nd half Moulton had a glorious opportunity to draw level with a free kick just outside the box which the opposition keeper tipped over the bar. From the resulting corner Jenna Looker bundled the ball over the line to bring the scores level. The effects of the long journey started to show on the midfield and the home side took the lead with a fierce right foot shot to the right hand side of the goal. An injury to Hayley Miller in Moulton's half saw the home side increase their lead before Sarah Judge pulled one back with a goal straight from a corner with seconds remaining on the clock.

Moulton College 2  -  4 John Leggett

Visitors John Leggett took all 3 points in Moulton's final home game of the season and they are now 5 points clear of Moulton in the East Midlands league.

Despite some good chances from Moulton it was John Leggett who took the lead through a well struck goal from open play and scored their second shortly leaving Moulton on the back foot for much of the first half.

After the break, Moulton regained some composure and put the pressure on the John Leggett defence with Joe Baillie and Alex Blunt coming close but it Brandon Lazarus who open Moulton's account with a well placed deflection from a Lewis Ward cross. Courtney Horner then scored Moulton's second following a speedy run down the right wing by Harry Peart. Moulton looked as though they might score that elusive equaliser when John Leggett caught them on the break and the ball was tipped over goalkeeper Luke Oakley.

A reasonable performance from Moulton, who now have just 2 games left to play this season, need to ensure victory to secure 2nd place in the league.

Moulton College Women's Hockey Academy
BCS East Midlands League - 3/3/2010

Moulton College 1  -  3 John Leggett 3

A disappointing result for the women's team who played John Leggett for a 4th time this season and despite drawing with them at the Regional competition and beating them in the knock out cup, Moulton have been unable to beat them in the league this season. However, it was Moulton who started out the brighter of the 2 teams and had opportunities to score but the Leggett goalkeeper made some outstanding saves. Despite chances at both ends, the score at half time was 0 - 0.

The second half saw Moulton push forward and it was John Leggett who caught Moulton on the break scoring off of a very good save by goalkeeper Alex Holmes. In return, Moulton scored from an excellent run from Emily Broughton that was put away neatly by Jemma White.

However, as legs tired, John Leggett scored 2 more goals and despite attempts by Mollie Gardner, Jess Lovell and Laura Whittle who all came close to scoring, the score remained at 3-1.

A laboured performance from the Moulton girls who lacked the high spirits and energy that they have displayed in some away games this year but they are looking to improve over the next few weeks of matches. Now 6 points behind Leggett in the league, the girls have to beat Lincoln and Bilborough in the next two weeks to maintain their 2nd place in the East Midlands league and prepare for the semi-final of the National Cup.

SQUAD: Alex Holmes, Laura Whittle, Amy Wykes, Ellen Johnson, Mollie Gardner, Jess Lovell, Lottie Allnatt, Hannah Bullimore, Emily Broughton, Jo Livesay, Jemma White, Lucy Quirke.

Moulton College 3  -  1 Grantham College

After a long lay-off due to bad weather Moulton College played their first league fixture in a month. This match was rearranged from the 6th January.

Both sides made a lively start but Moulton soon took control with a sustained period of pressure. Twenty minutes in and the home team's centre forward Mark Prior took an in-swinging free kick; Grantham's keeper could not hold onto the ball and managed only to push it away into Moulton's on-coming centre back, Michael Ramsdale, who made an easy tap-in to the back of the net. Continued pressure was put upon Grantham and the home-side took advantage of every situation. A Bradley Seed shot went wide but fell by chance into the path of Dean Lukeman who then fired their second goal home. Nearing the end of the first half Mark Prior made the score 3-0 by coolly stroking the ball into the top corner of the net following a great pass straight down the middle of the pitch.

The second half started as as the first; however Moulton began to waste chance after chance. Both Dean Lukeman and Lewis Legore should have scored hat-tricks for the home side and extraordinarily Moulton had a total of three goals disallowed by the linesman. In the final five minutes of the match Grantham College finally managed to pull a goal back with a cross-come shot that managed to creep into the top corner.

The final 3-1 outcome gained a well-deserved three points to the home side.

Moulton College 2nd XI 5  -  2 South East Derby College 1st XI

1st played 3rd in what could be a defining moment in Moulton College's season.

Moulton College played host to South East Derby College and started brightly taking a 3 goal advantage through Matt Underwood, Kyle Lockland with a stunner from inside the centre circle and centre forward Sam Gyasi. Moulton continued to dominate the game as they had in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, with some slick football highlighting their position at the top of the league.

The 2nd half started slowly until SEDC sprung into life and pulled back 2 quick goals with some exciting football. This made for an entertaining 2nd half with SEDC growing in confidence and taking the game to Moulton. Moulton responded by upping their game and restored a two goal advantage through debutant Ashley Clamp and a fine solo effort from Kyle Lockland. A special mention should go to Tom Daniels who had a solid game at right back.

With just 2 games left Moulton are now 4 points clear at the top with Stephenson College the only team able to catch them - good luck lads.
