"I am from a farming background and want to eventually go onto university to study agriculture. I didn’t achieve what I wanted in my GCSEs so I decided to come to Moulton College to study a First Diploma in Agriculture. During this course I was able to develop my practical skills in livestock, arable and machinery as well as beginning to develop an understanding of why we do certain things. I was amazed that I achieved such high marks and would never have thought that I could have had the equivalent of 4 A* GCSE’s.

During my First Diploma course I completed a successful work placement as well as commercial experience on the farm at College. This gave me additional skills in an area where I had not previously worked.

This has given me the confidence to enrol on the Subsidiary Diploma in Agriculture which I will be aiming to get a distinction in as well. I hope that I will then be able to use this grade to start a Foundation Degree. As well as being able to improve my knowledge about farming, I also enjoy an active social life at the College and as a member of young farmers."
