The Moulton College Basketball Academy will begin its pre-season training on Tuesday 16th August in preparation for the upcoming College competitions. Both new and current students will be welcomed in to prepare for the 2016-17 season, hoping for another successful year.
The Men’s Basketball Team will be competing in the Academy Basketball League (ABL) for a second consecutive season in the East/East Midlands Division, facing stern competition from opposing colleges within the region. The men will be looking to improve their record away from home in order to challenge for a play-off position.
The Women’s team will go into the new season full of optimism, attempting to improve their overall position in the East Midlands Conference where they finished runners up last season.
Both the men’s and women’s teams will be entering the AoC Regional Tournament with an opportunity to represent the East Midlands at the National Championships in April.
The Basketball Academy is a partnership between the College, Northants Schools Basketball Association and Basketball England, giving students the opportunity to develop their skills and achieve their ambitions while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Students take part in regular training sessions with experienced coaches that are integrated into their college timetable; teams play in national competition such as the Academy Basketball League (ABL) and Association of Colleges (AoC) league and cup competitions
