On Tuesday 26th and Friday 29th July, students joining the Golf Academy in September visited the College and the Northamptonshire County Golf Club to spend some time finding more about their study programme for September.
The pre-induction days also involved ice breakers, one to one coaching, picking a fantasy golf team for this week’s PGA Championship, and enabled the students to get to know each other prior to their course start date.
Two days of good weather meant that students had an opportunity to play a couple of holes, spend some time on the driving range and compete in a number of mini chipping and putting competitions.
With the quality of golfing skills on show there are high hopes that the students will make a good start to the year and compete for the ICT and British College Championships.
In partnership with the English Golf Partnership and Northamptonshire County Golf Club, the Golf Academy gives students the chance to work with professional golf coaches and develop their skills to a higher level while continuing with their education.
A number of competitions and fixtures are entered including British Colleges and the Intercollegiate Golf Tour.
Students are encouraged to gain appropriate coaching awards and gain work related opportunities in the Golf industry.
