Golf - Jack Brown selected to play

Second year Golf Academy student Jack Brown has been selected by the British School and Colleges Golf Tour to represent them at Exeter Invitational Links Trophy event at Trevose in Cornwall. Jack, who is currently leading the Order of Merit in the Area 4 of the  British Schools and Colleges Tour, will join Jack Yule (Lee Westwood School) and David Wicks (Bexhill) to play in the event from 2nd – 4th March 2013.

Jack, who was fourth in the National County Champion of Champions in 2012 will be playing some of the best players from Universities and Golf Schools across the country including  Exeter, St. Andrews, Birmingham, Bournemouth and Stirling. He will be playing 54 holes over 3 days, where his scores will count in both a team and individual competition. It also carries World Amateur Golf Ranking Points.

Moulton Academy Course Manager Nicky Milford said:

“We are incredibly proud that Jack has been recognised to play in this tournament. He was literally handpicked by looking at his recent form and from the hundreds of players who are playing on the British Schools and Colleges Tour this year.

This will be tough competition as Trevose is right on the North Cornish coast with a reputation for fairly unpredictable weather in the Spring! However, Jack has experience playing on coastal courses as we played at St Andrews last year when we were runners up in the British Schools and Colleges National Finals.
