At the end of a hectic first term, it’s a great time to reflect on the progress of students on both the Hockey and Cricket Academy.
Second year Hockey Students Jack Pogson, Luke Bridger and Louise Tremlett and first year student Elliott Knight will all be attending the British Colleges National Team trials, all have a realistic chance of being selected for the squad, demonstrating the enrichment value Moulton offers student development. Coupled with this all of the above students play for local teams and have had significant experience coaching Hockey voluntarily throughout their time at college.
The Hockey Academy, would also like to wish Northampton Saints, Wellingborough, Kettering, Long Buckby, Market Harborough, Corby and newly formed Wotton Wanders and Oundle Hockey Club continued good luck for the remainder of the assignments
The Cricket Academy continues to go from strength to strength with 14 Students, making up the first year and second years. First year student Nathan Joshi continues to show excellent organisational skills in a variety of sports, as outside of college he is a qualified referee and works throughout Northamptonshire referring local junior games. As well as personal and social enrichment activities, such as talks from Sports Maker Alex Le Guevel and Natalie Lawrence - Local School Sports Partnership Manager, Cricket Academy Students continue to shine academically, with over 80% of the Second Year Students applying for University.
The Cricket academy will continue their strong links with Northants, training at the County Ground twice a week, under the tutelage of coach Andy O’Connor.
The Cricket and Hockey Academies would like to wish all students continued success over the winter term.
