Research Interests and Current Research

Presently studying for a PhD aquaculture; investigating the contribution of aquaculture (fish farming) to poverty alleviation/food security among the rural poor in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja and its surroundings in Nigeria.  Blessing wishes to examine how the world can reach its growing population with animal protein especially that found in fish food cheaply.

She believes that aquaculture will play a big role in combating issues relating to food insufficiencies if appropriately initiated.

This research will create an avenue for Blessing to explore how fish can be produced in a more sustainable way, considering the limited available resources.  She believes that her involvement in this study will contribute enormously to the wellbeing of the society at large.
