Apprenticeships - Arboriculture

This Tree and Timber qualification is offered in Arboriculture and gained through a combination work based assessments and practical training and exams completed at college. On completion of your Initial Training Period, attendance at college will be on a day release basis. You will need to work for an approved Arboriculture employer.

You will Gain

  • NVQ in Arboriculture level 2
  • Key Skills at level 1 in Communications, Application of Number, Information Technology, Working with others, Problem Solving and Improving own learning.
  • Emergency First Aid (Appointed Person)
  • Certificate in Pesticide Applications
  • Certificate in Chainsaw Operations

The apprenticeship will focus on planting, care and maintenance of trees and woodlands mainly for the conservation of rural landscapes and the urban environment.The average duration of the apprenticeship is two years.

Special Features

The College offers first class practical facilities. The apprenticeship includes NPTC level 2 certificates (National Proficiency Test Council).

  • Safe Use of Pesticides - PA1 plus one other pesticide certificate
  • Chainsaw and Related Operations - CS30 and CS31

Apprenticeship Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements. You will need to demonstrate commitment and enthusiasm at interview and have acceptable references.
