Apprenticeships - Horse CareThis framework is available as an Apprenticeship and Advanced Apprenticeship. On completion of your Initial Training Period, attendance at college will be on a day release basis. The qualification is gained through a combination work based assessments and practical training and exams completed at college. You will need work at a Riding School, Livery Stables, Event Yard or Stud Farm. You will Gain
The apprenticeship will focus on skills required to be competent within the equine industry maintaining the health and well-being of horses and carrying out stable routines efficiently. The technical qualification is a level 2 BHEST Intermediate Certificate in Horse Care. The average duration of the apprenticeship is two years. The advanced apprenticeship will focus on skills required to be competent in assisting management and instructor responsibilities within the equine industry. The technical qualification is a level 3 NPTC Advanced Certificate in Horse Care. The average duration of the advanced apprenticeship is two years.
