Carrie has worked at Moulton College since May 2020. Having previously worked at the College as a consultant, she loved it so much she stayed on.
Carrie explains her role:
"My role is to lead on the commercial effectiveness of the College, this includes developing areas such as the Animal Therapy Centre; equine and sports events and re-launching our apprenticeship provision. This offers great opportunities to develop the whole estate, facilities and curriculum offer to ensure we are using all of our assets - ultimately providing a fantastic teaching and learning experience through re-investment of commercial income. It’s a virtuous circle!
Engaging with stakeholders and employers to ensure we are able to respond to their needs is an important aspect of the role and gives me an opportunity to get out and about promoting Team Moulton."
Carrie's passion has always involved organising training to meet employment needs - integrating employment and skills. Her first paid employment was working for a local newspaper before moving into further education to specifically link employers to training through apprenticeship and other commercial programmes. This has remained Carrie's driver throughout the 32 years she's spent working in the further education sector.
Carrie has held a number of senior posts both in the UK and internationally, providing her with a great insight into how to provide effective training programmes to meet both individual and employer needs.
"I like to think that I recognise the importance of good communications and bring creativity to all of my work. I'm also really committed to making work and learning fun for everyone!"
Carrie tells us why she enjoys working at Moulton College:
"What’s not to love about Moulton College! A fabulous campus, with great people to work alongside, lots of focussed students and a clear strategy for the future. All these things make coming to work very enjoyable."
