Sophie Sparrow - Equine Lecturer

Sophie joined Moulton back in 2014 as a student on one of our equine courses, and after studying with us she decided to take the plunge into teaching at Higher Education level - and hasn't looked back!

"From the moment I joined the L3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management course at Moulton, I began to mould my career. Now a lecturer in the subject, it’s my ambition to inspire and help students to learn more about the equestrian industry, in the same way my lecturers inspired me. Studying my degree at Moulton was a multi-dimensional experience, and I not only grew in my understanding of horses, but personally too. It’s a privilege to watch my students do the same.
After graduating from Moulton, I furthered my studies and gained experience in equestrian and animal enterprises. I’ve worked on competition yards, racing administration and equine insurance. After gaining an interest in equine performance and rehabilitation, I completed a diploma in equine sports massage, and I’m actually looking to progress this further at masters level.
Working at Moulton is a fulfilling experience, and it’s great to watch my students develop their equine skills and employability prospects too. The smaller class sizes make for very involved learning which helps to develop our student-staff relationships and provide tailored support for each individual. I wouldn’t want to work anywhere else."
