Steve is passionate about encouraging the next generation to develop the essential skills they need to excel within construction management.
"Having worked in both the construction and education sector for over 30 years, I have a clear vision for addressing the difficulties of today and the challenges of tomorrow. I have held varied senior management positions in both the construction and further education sectors.
From my humble beginnings as a Royal Marine I then undertook a bricklaying apprenticeship for my introduction into the construction industry.
In addition to my experience of working within education and training, I founded and grew a multi – million pound Construction Company overseeing the construction of several hospitals, schools and housing projects.
My passion lies with employers to deliver high quality training solutions for the future, supporting economic prosperity within the construction industry.
I have been the subject lead of Construction Management and Civil Engineering in the School of the Built Environment since 2019.
The way that construction is organised, managed and procured has a significant impact on our environment. My teaching, research and professional activities are focused on this and around a determination to make a difference to the built environment/sectors that we serve."
