The wall and floor tiling team at Moulton College are going from strength to strength. The college has been offering specialist courses for several years under the guidance of experienced tutors Paul Harman and Bruce Leathers and their students continue to produce some excellent work which has regularly been recognised by success in the National Skill Build competitions.
This year has been exceptionally busy with many of the current full time students securing apprenticeships on completion of their course to allow them to continue to develop their skills in the workplace. One example of this is twin brothers Stephen and Matthew Kelsey who have both been taken on as apprentice tilers with Wellingborough based company S & J Tiling. The brothers have worked extremely hard this year and have just completed their level 2 diploma in wall and floor tiling.
Stephen said ‘I am really looking forward to starting work as a trainee tiler and taking on new challenges. The skills that I have learnt will definitely benefit me in my new role. The tiling course has been really enjoyable and the tutors have been very helpful and supportive.’
Course manager, Paul Harman, has advised that ‘This is a great opportunity for Stephen and Matt to further develop their tiling skills.’ Both brothers will be back at Moulton in September to start their NVQ programme.
As well as supporting the current students, Paul Harman is helping shape the future of tiling training as part of the trailblazer development group. Paul and Bruce are both committed to supporting the wall and floor tiling industry and training the next generation of tilers and are looking forward to more success over the coming years.
