We are looking forward to welcoming you in September (or welcoming you back if you're a current student!) and hope you are looking forward to it too.
In order to help prepare you for University life, we are holding 4 half day workshops throughout the summer:
12th June - Research techniques and dissertation introduction
Join us to find out information on how to carryout research activities, the process and recording of such and the methods used. The second part of the session will be for those going on to the degree programmes and we will also discuss how to choose a suitable dissertation topic and the process of beginning the research for this.
5th July - Academic Writing and study skills
Join us for information on various assessment techniques and how these should be set out. We will also look at time management and study skills.
16th August - Referencing protocols
Join us to find out how to reference appropriately at University level.
13th September - Finding work experience and employability skills
This is specifically aimed at the full-time students but all are welcome to join us for information on how to find work experience and CV development specific to the sector. We will also look at employability requirements within the construction industry.
All sessions will be running from 9am - 11am with half an hour at the end of each session saved for networking so you can get the chance to get to know other students on your course.
