Start date 21 September 2022
Duration 0 years

Adult English courses are delivered on Wednesday evenings, giving anybody over the age of 19, without a formal English qualification, the opportunity to develop their key reading, writing and speaking & listening skills and work towards a recognised national qualification.

Adult English courses cover a range of key skills: reading and analysing a variety of texts; writing accurately for different purposes; taking part in discussions and delivering presentations.

All English courses are assessed by two final exams and both GCSE and Functional Skills require internal speaking & listening assessments.

A GCSE grade 4 or Functional Skills Level 2 are the minimum requirement for most courses at Level 3 and above. Many employers also require these qualifications to evidence the skills considered vital in the modern workplace.

All applicants will complete detailed assessments before the courses begin to establish current Maths knowledge and skills, and provide guidance on which course and level is appropriate.
