Construction Management is an exciting and ever changing field. There has never been a better time to join the construction industry as we enter a huge exciting regeneration period for cities, railways and houses. In the UK, the construction industry employs over two million people and our Level 3 Extended Diploma in Construction Management will develop your skills preparing you for your career within this sector.

As a construction management student you will have access to an exciting range of specialist resources at the College. Guided by our expert staff and guest lecturers you’ll use our workshops, Computer Aided Design software and college estate to develop your understanding of property law, surveying and planning.

As part of your course you will undertake commercial experience, where you will learn and develop practical skills that will be vital for your future in construction management.

Guided by expert lecturers you will gain an advanced understanding of construction, architecture, law, quantity surveying and the planning and design of builds across a wide range of technologies. Through theoretical and practical learning you will explore building regulations, building surveying, structural mechanics as well as surveying techniques and more. Year 1 Modules include:

  • Construction Principals
  • Construction Design
  • Building Technology
  • Health and Safety
  • Graphical Detailing
  • Management of a Building Project
  • Building Surveying

Year 2 Modules include:

  • Tendering and Estimating
  • Topographical Surveying
  • Building Regulations
  • Further Mathematics *Projects in Construction
  • Construction in Civil Engineering
  • Property Law in Construction
  • Conversion and Adaptation

Hi-Vis and Work Safety Boots are required to undertake this course. All of our equipment is supplied by Baca.

This is a full time course taking place on three days per week from 9am - 4:30pm. There will be a mix of practical and theoretical work which are split into 1 hour - 1.45 hour lessons. You will have regular breaks including a lunch break.

Assessment consists of:

  • Practical assessments
  • Externally assessed Exams
  • Assignments

You could continue your studies and gain the following qualifications: Higher National Certificate (HNC). Higher National Diploma (HND). Undergraduate Degree Course. Higher Apprenticeships. Our students have gone onto careers as project managers, quantity surveyors, architects and structural engineers.

Five GCSE grades at 9-4 (A*-C) including maths, English and science.
