Animal Welfare

Animal management students make use of an extensive range of practical resources as an important part of their course.  There is a state of the art Animal Welfare Centre housing a wide range of animals including small mammals, rodents, goats, llamas and exotic species such as reptiles, sugar gliders, marmosets and meerkats. There is also an Animal Therapy Centre including canine hydrotherapy pool and water treadmill and a professional dog grooming parlour which are open to the public. Neighbouring these enterprises is a fully operational veterinary practice including classroom with a video link for observing live operations. There is also a commercial pet shop based within the College Garden Centre.

Groom Your Own Dog Course:

Please note you must have a long-haired dog that requires grooming. Any smooth haired dog will not be appropriate.
