The main site can be found in Moulton village, offering students easy access to shops, pubs, a post office, garage and health centre. A service bus runs regularly to both Northampton and Kettering, while free-of-charge public transport links the site to the University of Northampton.
The site itself is home to our Learning Resources Centre (including library and IT suites), higher education study centre and residential accommodation, student services and transport office.
Our fantastic new College Social Centre, opened in 2012, contains a shop, dining facilities, the Student Welfare team, counselling services, the college nurses, a multi-faith room, higher education support and study rooms, social areas in which to relax and informal learning spaces to help you study.
Linked to the main site by a scenic footpath bordering the Millennium Arboretum planted in 2000, the Holcot Centre is our base for Agriculture and Countryside, Horticulture, Animal Welfare, Furniture and Design Studies, Construction, Building Studies and Floristry courses.
It is also home to our garden centre, florist shop, pet store, small animal veterinary practice and small animal therapy centre, all of which are open to the public and provide realistic commercial environments in which our students can develop their practical skills.
To complement the high quality teaching rooms, workshops and other specialist resources, Holcot has two coffee shops serving hot and cold snacks, drinks and confectionery, laboratories and IT suites for students to use.
Pitsford is our base for Equestrian Studies, Sports Studies and General Education Studies, as well as our commercial Dairy unit.
To complement these, we recently opened our state of the art £9 million Sports Therapy and Injury Rehabilitation Centre, which continues our approach of providing students with practical training through a commercial enterprise. Extensive specialist services are provided at the centre, which include the latest Cryotherapy and Hyperbaric chambers, hydrotherapy and water therapy rooms and a six-lane 25-metre swimming pool with moving floor.
High quality teaching rooms and practical facilities are complemented by a restaurant, study centre and IT suite, while a commercial equestrian centre with international-size indoor riding arena and livery yard, and an equine veterinary practice and equine therapy centre operate commercially on site.
The focus of our commercial farming activity, Lodge Farm provides buildings for lambing, calf rearing and grain storage, as well as being home to our Management Centre that offers a wide range of professional courses for local industry and commerce.
Specialist mechanisation, welding and arboriculture workshops and mechanical handling resources are also to be found at Lodge Farm.
The recently completed Wilson Countryside Management Centre (supported by the Wilson Foundation) means South Lodge – linked by a cycleway and with its own shuttle bus service – is now home to ultra-modern resources for countryside management, game rearing and fish rearing.
Sports and Leisure Facilities
It’s not all work-work-work at Moulton and alongside the very best teaching and learning resources we provide a wide range of sports and leisure facilities between the Holcot and Pitsford centres.
These include two sports halls with fitness suite, free weights gym, dance studio, climbing wall and golf simulator; a range of specialist artificial and turf pitches for football, hockey, netball, rugby and tennis, among others; and a golf driving range.
The Sports Centre is open seven days a week throughout the year and used by both students and a number of local sports clubs and associations.
