The Rugby Academy at Moulton College is a partnership between the college, Northampton Saints Rugby Football Club, the Rugby Football Union (RFU) and the Rugby Football Union for Women (RFUW).

As a member of the Rugby Academy, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills to professional or semi-professional standards while completing your academic studies in a level 3 sports qualification. You will benefit from our exceptional facilities and will have access to a range of professional support services, which could include specialist coaching, strength and conditioning, performance analysis, nutritional advice and physiotherapy.

Currently, we have two pathways within the Rugby Academy, both with the sole aim of developing the skills and attributes of our players:

1. The Elite Development Squad
2. The Development Squad

In order for you to be selected into either squad, you must first have applied or have been accepted onto a course at Moulton College. Then you will be expected to attend one of our trial days which are usually scheduled in the May Half-term and/or in one of the summer months. If you are successful in receiving an offer for the Rugby Academy you will need to pay £100 membership to our academy. This cost will give you access to the following:

  • Moulton College Training Kit, which includes 2 x training tops, 2x shorts, 1 x training hoodie.
  • Eligibility to participate in the AOC Competition
  • All league and cup competition fees paid
  • A minimum of one fitness session per week, supervised by a qualified S&C Coach
  • A Personalised Fitness Training Programme
  • Eligibility to participate in the Moulton College Fitness Challenge in 2019/20
  • Transport to fixtures
  • Access to massage clinic/corrective exercise sessions (Elite Development Squad only)
  • 1 free use of the cryotherapy chamber at the Chris Moody Centre (Elite Development Squad only)
