Diploma Level 2 Forestry and Arboriculture
Erika enrolled on the National Award in Arboriculture beginning September 2006. Erika chose to study arboriculture as she was put off by working in an office and wanted an outdoor career. She has enjoyed both the theoretical and practical aspects of the course and describes the College as a stress free environment to work and study in. Erika particularly enjoys tree climbing and represented the College at the ISA student tree climbing competition, coming second in the Women’s category and seventh overall. Erika has enjoyed the study for her National Award as well as the additional qualifications that will help her in industry.
“The training we are given to achieve the ND qualification along with the additional qualifications we can gain such as the NPTC chainsaw and tree climbing certificates have been excellent and that is needed for jobs.”
Erika intends to progress onto the BTEC National Diploma in Arboriculture and then wishes to work in the UK or abroad.
