Jessica La Rosa
Jessica joined Moulton College in September 2009 and completed her National Diploma in Horse Management in July 2011 with a Distinction Distinction Distinction (DDD) grade profile. Whilst at Moulton, Jessica also worked towards the British Horse Society (BHS) stages and achieved a range of additional qualifications. She also represented Moulton in inter-College competitions and was a member of the Dressage Academy. She is now continuing with her equestrian studies on the Foundation Degree in Applied Equine Studies at Moulton College.
Jessica says I chose to apply for the National Diploma in Horse Management at Moulton College because I knew that I wanted to work with horses as a career and wanted to be offered further knowledge in order to be successful within the industry. Whilst I was at Moulton College, I also passed my BHS Stage 1, Ride and Road Safety and BHS Stage 2. I was encouraged to develop to Stage 3 level in both my Riding and Stable Management, regular dressage academy lessons and regular jump lessons allowed my confidence and experience to build and refine. I completed the National Diploma at Distinction level and have then chosen to progress from further education to higher education and am now on the Foundation Degree in Applied Equine Studies. This course will further develop my academic knowledge of the horse industry and also to broaden my career opportunities in the future. In the future I want to succeed through the BHS qualifications and become an instructor and eventually an examiner, I believe furthering my knowledge in a degree will aid my academic knowledge for these exams.
