My name is Tamara Bousfield and I attended Moulton from 2013-2015. I feel as though Moulton was the beginning of my journey into the career I wanted to pursue in racing. Moulton helped me with regards to starting off my riding. I was helped along the way and the instructors helped me to gain confidence and skills. The lectures and practicals have helped me a lot more than I thought they did back then. I can remember everything I learnt and was taught there, and I've been able to take that knowledge into my new line of work with horses. I can use my qualifications from the equine therapy and use it in my horse racing, for example we have the equine spas here so I already have some knowledge about the benefits of using a spa and i know what I'm doing. All of the lecturers helped me whenever I needed it and without them I wouldn't be where I am today! It was really a kick start to my new career!
Since Moulton I have graduated from jockey school and have been given a job at Alan King racing where I've been working since August last year. I'm now riding race horses everyday, learning how to gallop upsides and ride younger more inexperienced horses. I get to travel and go racing and watch the horses that I look after grow and develop into amazing thoroughbreds! Moulton opened up a lot more opportunities for me, and now I have plans to move to Ireland to work for aiden O'brien in the next year or so. I loved Moulton college and I'm grateful of their help!!
