Equine Level 3 Extended Diploma students organised an Easter Eggtravaganza as part of their Event Management Unit and chose to raise money for the Blue Cross Charity. The activities included a team event spread across many activities. Teams accumulated points, with the highest points total winning.
The events included a best turned out competition with Team Sprocket (Caitlin and Alice) coming first. The second event of the morning was a dismounted 6 bar limbo competition won by Level 2 Diploma students; Jordan, Katherine and Kellie. The last two events of the morning were blindfolded, long reining relays and an equestrian knowledge quiz. The morning’s events ended with Team Paddy (Laura, Beth and Abi) and Team Sprocket neck and neck. However, the afternoon’s activities, which included accumulator and style and performance showjumping classes, gave a clear winner. Team Sprocket won with an impressive score of 129 points, Team Paddy second on 97 points and Team Chancer third on 77 points.
The finale of the afternoon was an Easter egg hunt, with teams having to solve equestrian related clues in order to find all of the Easter eggs.
Extended Diploma student, Sally Scott, said, “ I have had the best day ever and thoroughly enjoyed all of the activities, especially the showjumping and Easter egg hunt”.
Event Management Unit tutor, Charlotte Osborne, said, “Students have been planning this event during Event Management lessons and overall it went well”
