Moulton College student Sam Brister has successfully completed the second stage of the selection process to represent the UK at Worldskills 2015, to be held in Brazil. Sam was selected to join the elite national squad alongside former Moulton College student David Williams. Both did well at the first stage held at Loughborough University and moved on to Oxford where they took part in two days of intensive training and a three day selection test. Both students made a side table with two drawers in oak. Sam was confident with his own performance in the selection test where he was able to complete the table to a high standard within the time permitted. If successful, Sam will move on to the next stage in Northern Ireland in June.
Sam explained that the selection process was intense and extremely demanding, but that he loved every minute of it. He is also under no illusion that, as the squad will finally be narrowed down to just one person to represent the UK in Brazil, the task ahead of him will be difficult. Sam went on to say. “It is an honour and a fabulous experience to be able to train with the best in the country!” His tutors at Moulton College wish him the best of luck as he moves though the selection process.
