First year Sport and Exercise Science student Jessica Anderson is currently competing in Norway and Austria in the slalom and giant slalom events for the Ambition racing team. She is delighted to be achieving personal best times and is enjoying the intensive routine of morning training on the slopes, education and college work in the afternoon with gym work in the evenings as this is clearly paying off.
Jess was first introduced to the sport of skiing as a 3 year old whilst holidaying in France, this holidaying continued for the next few years and her progress was remarkable. Jess was at race level by the time she was 7, has been a member of the GB Alpine ski team for 5 years and is currently a key member of the U18 GB and England teams.
Jess has countless sporting achievements, runner up in the young sportswoman of the year category at the recent Northamptonshire Sports Awards springs to mind, however the ones which she is most proud of are being selected to represent GB in Topolino, Italy twice, winning the British Alpine slalom championship and getting on the podium for GB in the Czech Republic. The intensive training and being away in the build up to Christmas are familiar levels of commitment to elite level athletes and her long term goal is to compete for GB in the World Cup and Winter Olympic Games.
Her levels of dedication extend to her studies where she is currently achieving a Distinction grade for her Sport and Exercise Sciences course. Moulton College is not only very supportive of Jess but also extremely proud of her continued success and we look forward to hearing more as her career progresses and hope that we can help her to achieve her dream.
