Rugby Academy student Cameron Clarke

Selection to WRU Academicals....

Rugby Academy student Cameron Clarke has most recently been selected to play in the Welsh Academicals commonly known as the “Accies” squad for the 2014 season. With his first match on Saturday, January 25th against Millfield.

Selection to the squad is strictly based on the individual merit of each player. However they must be followers of the WRU Player Progression alongside academic commitments. The Welsh Academicals have a strong record of identifying emerging talent from college, university and community rugby; it is hoped than many more of the students will be identified through their play whilst representing Moulton College.

The Welsh Academicals is the WRU affiliated team where students are afforded the opportunity to represent Wales in tournaments all over the globe including the Hong Kong 7's, whilst the team have toured countries as distant as South Africa.

The overseas experience has helped students to maintain their position on the elite player pathway. The programme has seen 172 players develop into senior internationals, of these 60 of them have also progressed to become British Lions.

All sport staff at Moulton College wish Cameron the best of luck in this weekend’s match and furthermore his future player developments.
