Fighting Crime with Horses!

Moulton College Level 2 Diploma Equine students enjoyed a day out at Milton Keynes Police station finding out how horses are used to help fight crime including patrolling Milton Keynes, at football matches and searching scrub land and their role in escorting the Queen at Ascot races.

They were given a tour of the stable yard and introduced to the police horses. The students also received details on how the horses and police officers are trained, as well as advice on how to join the police and to possibly specialise with police horses, which takes many years as a police officer first.

Level 2 student Amy Buckland said, ‘I really enjoyed the visit. It was interesting to find out how the horses were trained and the sorts of things they do with them.’
