Moulton college attend Autism Concerns youth group

On 25th February and 4th March, staff from the College’s Supported Learning area and the Animal Welfare Centre attended the Autism Concerns ‘Go 4 it’ Youth Group at the Abbey Centre in Northampton and ‘Junior Go 4’ it at Kingsthorpe Grove Primary School, St. David's Road.

The evening was arranged to give youngsters information about different animal species and provided an opportunity for them to handle a variety of animals that they might not usually come across, including: ferrets, millipedes, bearded dragons, a snake and a cockroach.

The attendees appeared to very much enjoy the interactive session, asked lots of questions and challenged themselves to hold some creatures that they were a bit wary of.

The youth group caters for a range of ages; ‘Junior Go 4 it’  is a group for young people aged 8-12  and ‘Go 4 it’ meets twice monthly for those aged between 13 and 18 with High Functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD.

Moulton College offers an Easter School for young people with additional needs, which starts on 9th April and is open to those aged 14 and over. If you would like more information about the Easter School or other courses available at Moulton College please contact the Registry on 01604 491131.
