Former Moulton College Sport and Exercise Science student Olivia Weller built on her success at the British College Championship where she won Gold in the 50m Breaststroke by winning her first open water race.
Olivia represented Great Britain in a 5km open swim in Italy – her first attempt at open water swimming. She surpassed her own expectations and won the elite women’s event for her age group.
This amazing achievement means she will be competing in the World Championship in October in Spain – an excellent effort on her first attempt.
Olivia said “Just arrived back from Italy, and thought was only right to give you the update as the college has been so supportive of my swimming. I'm very pleased to tell you I won the elite women age group for Ocean Man in Italy so this means I qualified for worlds, and I'll be competing at world championships in October in Spain! This was so unexpected being my first ever open water race."
