On Tuesday 26thJanuary, students from Sport Development and Sport Science courses were taken to Worcester University to visit the National Sports Roadshow.
The roadshow was designed to provide a platform for students, employers, trainers, careers advisors, professionals and people looking for a change in career the opportunity to interact with each other.
There were different zones which students could visit including a Careers Zone highlighting the diversity of careers within the industry, an open Careers Clinic and a Sports Zone offering students an opportunity to observe and/or participate in taster sessions in a diverse range of sport and leisure activities and receive coaching from professional sports coaches.
Students also tried sports they had not played before including Global VX, Tchoukball and Powerhoop. Mitch Wilson particularly enjoyed ‘Wild Training’ where he met one of the master trainers and founders of the business.
Mitch said “The whole day was really enjoyable, particularly speaking to Wild Training and having a go at their techniques, as I would like to become a Personal Trainer in the future too”.
