Ex Moulton College rugby academy student Leanne Riley is getting ready with the rest of the Red Roses squad for the biggest match of her life. She is part of the England ladies squad competing in the Women’s World Cup in Belfast.
“It is an amazing feeling to be part of this talented squad and to be part of the word cup. The atmosphere and support has been amazing in the build and to start the first game was extra special”
“The hard work and training has really paid off. My time at Moulton gave me a solid start to my career and I would never had made it this far without this experience and the coaching I received as part of the AASE programme”
The Red Roses overcame France 20-3 in the semi-final on Tuesday in challenging conditions. A fantastic defensive effort in the first half laid the foundations for a tough hard fought win in Belfast.
We wish Leanne and the squad all the best for the final against New Zealand on Saturday.
