Equestrian students get into the Christmas spirit

Moulton College students on the Level 2 and Level 3 Diploma in Horse Care courses put on their annual Christmas show on the 14th December.

There were three classes, one in hand and two ridden to ensure as many students as possible were able to take part.

The learners dressed their horses and themselves in festive attire including angel wings, reindeer antlers, artificial holly and of course lots and lots of tinsel!

The winners were then decided by their fellow students, with prizes of Christmas chocolate being awarded for first and second place in each class. This resulted in a lively debate with an extra reward for third place added to one of the categories in recognition of the extremely high standards. The students were urged to vote for the horse who was best behaved and most festive, rather than voting for their handler.

The winners in the in hand class were; Cheyenne Coulson and Sparkie followed by Chantel Crabbe and Boyo in second. In the ridden categories the following prizes were awarded. Tinsel category; 1st Bronwyn Blyth and Dawn; 2nd Chloe Martin and Storm; 3rd Tiegan Spence and Philip, Christmas category 1st Megan McArdle and Mac; 2nd Angel Clark and Tammy.

After the horse classes, the students competed against each other in groups through an obstacle course which they had designed themselves and then had a go at a Chase me Charlie on foot!  All students enjoyed their day, and it was a great way to finish the term.
