The Football Association Youth Award, held in Moulton College’s Pitsford Sports Hall futsal court, is a relatively new concept in coaching and was launched in 2009.
The course is designed to help coaches understand as much about their young players as they understand about the game. This is incorporated into module one of the award and focuses on creating the right environment in which the young person can learn.
This ground-breaking initiative has been praised by coaches from the grassroots to the elite for improving their development as youth coaches.
Northamptonshire FA already has very close links with Moulton College and for a number of years it has been the preferred coaching base for the delivery of FA Level 1 and 2 coaching courses. The College is ideally located due to the close proximity of classrooms and high standard of training facilities which include the futsal court and the rubber crumb astroturf pitch.
The partnership is set to continue into 2013 with course dates already booked throughout the year, including exciting plans to host the regional futsal finals in May.
