Not just one but TWO gold medals at this year’s Chelsea Flower show for student Charlotte Baker and lecturer Laura Leong.
Charlotte Baker, who is currently completing level 4 Intermediate Diploma in floristry, was awarded a gold medal at Chelsea.
This is for designers up to 25 years of age and is a further demonstration of Charlotte`s talent. Charlotte won the final heat of last year’s Worldskills and may well have the opportunity to follow in Chloe Woolf`s footsteps to proceed for selection at next year’s final.
This fabulous result was followed later in the week by Laura Leong, Moulton College tutor who also achieved a gold medal and the highest accolade of all the floristry classes, RHS Florist of the Year.
Both were understandably thrilled with their achievements which demonstrate their amazing talent particularly considering that neither had previously taken part in the Chelsea Flower show.
The turnabout of the class’s means that set up is 1am which makes for an exhausting two days for both Charlotte and Laura. However, winning the highest awards possible in the floristry section is a fantastic reward for their incredible effort and talent.
Everyone at the College is very proud of what they have achieved.
