An open evening to showcase apprenticeships at Moulton College was a “great success,” organisers have said.
The event last Thursday, held as part of the Government’s national apprenticeship week, attracted more than 100 employers and individuals.
People who attended were given information on the 30 different apprenticeship programmes offered by the college, while employers were given information on the benefits of employing an apprentice.
These include the financial incentives currently available to encourage firms to take on young people and train them on the job, developing the specific skills needed to make the business more productive and competitive.
Apprenticeship schemes manager, Rebecca Kinnear, said: “The open evening was a great success and gave the college the opportunity to showcasing its apprenticeship provision.
“Apprenticeships are a crucial investment in the future of businesses. Recruitment costs will be reduced and the apprentice is more likely to stay with the employer.
“Apprentices receive relevant and productive training and will make a positive contribution to businesses.”
