Animal Welfare Technician Demonstrator - Sessional

Working across our sites in Moulton and Higham Ferrers your duties will include all routine tasks required of animal husbandry to maintain the health, care and welfare of a range of companion and exotic animals, therefore relative industry experience and knowledge of current industry practice will be essential, along with updating and maintaining records. Supporting lecturers and preparing stock and equipment for use in practical classes, in addition to supervising groups of students on commercial experience also form part of this varied role. You will play a vital role in ensuring the College is best placed to serve the needs of industry and our students by demonstrating key practical skills including safe animal handling in a range of practical sessions.

If you have a minimum of a level 3 qualification in an animal related subject, grade C or equivalent in GCSE English & Maths, can evidence a commitment to CPD, and have a willing, flexible and adaptable approach, we would love to hear from you!

The post holder will have a broad range of knowledge and technical skills working with a variety of animals, including domestic mammals, large hoof stock, exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and aquatic species. The post holder will ideally have experience in teaching and instructing however this is not essential as training and support will be provided.
