Head of School - Learning Support

Having a strong understanding of High Needs and Supported Learning will allow you to provide an outstanding student experience and ensure the high needs learners across the college achieve their full potential. Duties to support this will include providing high quality teaching, learning and assessments when required; maintaining a network with parents and sector professionals to enhance the level of teaching and support giving within college; ensuring access arrangements are identified in a timely way and shared with the wider College; and ensuring that high needs provision is fully costed and communicated to relevant authorities.

As a Head of School you will have responsibility for promoting your colleagues development by coaching, having regular appraisals and all round support and assurance. Leading and maintaining an effective professional teaching and learning environment to support the development of the high needs provision within the curriculum.

We require candidates to hold relevant Industry qualifications and perhaps a related academic qualification. If a management qualification is not held, you will be able to study for one if appointed. You will be able to demonstrate a record of achievements in an academic setting or industry environment especially in working with students with additional learning needs. This role requires an outstanding communicator and someone that will be at ease liaising with a number of internal and external stakeholders to progress key plans.
