Higher Education Student Engagement Officer - 22.5 Hours Per Week

We are proud to say that our Higher Education provision is developing and expanding, our student numbers are rising and our staff are passionate and motivated. To support this we are looking for a Higher Education Student Engagement Officer.

This role is a key link to supporting and improving the continuation rates of our degree level programmes. This will include personalising plans to ensure that engagement is of the highest calibre across all levels of awards with the aim of ensuring progression. The role will focus on targeted intervention that will support student success as well as the colleges KPI’s. In addition, you will also be involved in monitoring digital student record keeping, the recording and updating of student engagement and planning.

You will have experience of student support at level 4, 5 and 6 in a Higher Education context and a broad awareness of Office for Students metrics such as continuation and achievement data. You will need a proactive approach to student collaboration and best student experience and results, putting the students at the centre if what you do.

You will have previous experience in a similar role with in an educational environment. Candidates must be IT literate and understand the importance of attention to detail and accuracy. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to positively relate to people from all walks of life. You should have a flexible approach to your work to enable you to adapt to changing priorities.

You will have a minimum of a grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent) and hold a degree level qualification, a postgraduate teaching qualification would be advantageous whilst not essential.
