Lecturer – Animal Welfare and Management (Higher Education)

We are seeking experienced individuals to join our team to teach and support students across our full range of Animal Welfare & Management curriculum within our Higher Education provision.

Duties of the role will include, tutoring and management of one or more courses or groups of students, the development of Animal Welfare & Management courses, along with participation in demonstrations and practical activities with students and trainees on all courses. Delivery of exemplary service to learners, customers and clients, other key areas will be the participation in moderation, auditing and other quality assurance processes.

The College’s Animal Welfare facilities at the Moulton Campus encompass a purpose built Animal Welfare Centre, an Animal Therapy Centre housing canine hydrotherapy units and an on-site commercial veterinary practice. Students studying Animal Management programmes are also taught on the College estate and are given the opportunity to be involved with animal related activities to enhance their educational journey.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in an animal related subject, hold or be willing to work towards, and achieve, a Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent and have a minimum of grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language (or equivalent). We are particularly looking for someone with a zoology or animal science background to deliver this key area of our curriculum.
